Cheap Diapers on Amazon!!!

I have posted about Amazon in the past.  It is one of my favorite ways to shop….I don’t even have to leave the house!

My babies are no longer in diapers…….YEEEEE HAW!!  About a year before the last time I had to change one, I learned about Amazon Mom.  It is free to join and it saves you 20% on diapers when you “subscribe and save.”  You simply sign up for them to send you a shipment on a regular basis.  (every two weeks, monthly, bi-montly, etc…)  The best part is that before a shipment goes out, they send you a confirmation email letting you know.  If you don’t want the shipment you can just skip it and it doesn’t cost you anything.  You are never obligated to buy any of the diapers.  And the best part……you get free 2 day shipping on diapers and wipes.  No more Wal-Mart runs for diapers 🙂

I found that this was the cheapest way to buy diapers.

This gets even sweeter!  Right now they have a promotion going where you get an extra $25 credit when you purchase certain diapers.  This could mean some FREE diapers for you.  And……if you are going to have to change stinky diapers, free ones are always better!

Here is the link for the promotion:

Happy Wiping 🙂

AMAZON PRIME… it worth the cost?

amazon primeI have a confession to make…….I HATE to shop.  Part of the problem is that I don’t like to spend money, but I also can’t stand crowded stores.  I don’t want to wait in line, or go up and down aisles endlessly looking for what I need.  Okay, I admit I have issues!

Because of my ticks, I tend to do as much shopping as possible online!  If I can click and have a big truck deliver it to my doorstep, I am one happy frugal gal! That is, of course, if I can get a good deal.

Back a couple of years ago, when my babies were still in diapers, I joined Amazon Mom and got a free trial for Amazon Prime. (Now days, anyone can get a one month free trial on Amazon.)

Oh. My. Gosh.

It was fantastic!  I can’t even count the number of things that I ordered on Amazon during that three-month trial.  I wanted a book….Amazon.  Just used my last laminating sheet…Amazon.  Oops, last package of baby wipes……Amazon has that too!

At the end of my trial I had the option to purchase the annual membership at $79/ year.  This was a bit steep to me until I realized that you can SHARE your membership with 4 family members.  Now, we are talking about a GOOD DEAL!  I talked to my mom, sister, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts, and cousins until I found people who were interested in joining in with me.  Once we divided the cost, it ended up at a whooping $16/year.  Now THAT is FRUGAL-TASTIC!

I can have anything on their site that is “prime eligible” shipped TO MY DOOR in 2 days with no additional cost for shipping.  While there are a exceptions, most of the time I find that Amazon’s prices are very competitive to the prices that I can buy things in the store.  If I am not going to get a rock bottom deal from combining coupons with sales, I think I actually save money.  I don’t have to drive to the store and waste the gas (or my sanity taking 5 kids in the store with me) and it certainly keeps me from having to go to several stores to find exactly what I need.

A couple of other frugalicious perks to the membership are free live streaming of videos and their kindle lending library.  Keep in mind though that only the primary person on the account get these benefits.  So my family members, since they were added to my account, don’t get the benefits but I do.

Do any of you have a prime membership?  What are some of your favorite things to buy?
