Quick Philly Cheesesteak

Sometimes you need a quick, easy meal.  Who am I kidding….I want every meal to be quick and easy!  Sigh.

Being from the great state of Texas, it is hard to find a good Philly Cheese steak, but my husband request them fairly often.  I don’t even bother with the battle between provolone or cheese whiz.  If the cheese comes in a jar, it isn’t real cheese! Right?  So, grill up some veggies and slice up some beef, these sandwiches are delicious!

Here is what you need:

Olive oil

Sliced onions

Sliced Bel Peppers

salt and pepper

1 pound trimmed strip loin

provolone cheese

Hoagies (I just use this quick rise bread!)

20140126-212144.jpgPut a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in the bottom of your pan and toss in your onions and Bel peppers.  Saute until the onions are almost clear and the peppers are soft.  (Sometimes I add mushrooms, but hubs doesn’t like them so they didn’t make it this round.)

When the veggies are ready, toss your trimmed and sliced beef into the pan.

20140126-212152.jpgWhile your meat is cooking, slice your bread and place the provolone on each side.

20140126-212158.jpgWhen the meat is fully cooked, toss it on the bread.  You want it hot so the cheese will melt.
